Although the big competitions and accolades are held on the Duke and Marquess courses, the Duchess Course is incredible in its own right and provides an excellent challenge to golfers of all abilities. The Duchess winds it’s way through a forest of tall pines and never leaves them. There are some solid holes on the Duchess, especially the par threes. So for example, a course with a load of forced carries in front of tees or some real penal bunkering around the greens is going to have a high slope rating.
